great staff , but uneven breakfast experience
The staff provided exceptional service that made our stay enjoyable. The dinner each night was outstanding, especially the Friday Prime Rib, which is among the best I've had. We loved the beautiful lake view from our room, making our evenings relaxing and peaceful.
The breakfast options could use some improvement.

Charming atmosphere, beautiful lake views, cozy arts and crafts furniture
With limited refreshments between breakfast and bar opening, a small refrigerator in rooms would be a great addition!!! The parking lot's size could cause headaches if it's busy. Better outdoor lighting would enhance the experience too!!!

Exceptional service shines here! The manager went above and beyond, providing a quick continental breakfast that saved us time while we were rushing to our grandson's camp. The King Suite offered immaculate cleanliness and a cozy atmosphere, while the stunning lakeside view added a serene touch to our stay. However, the breakfast timings could be improved to cater to early risers and the parking lot felt cramped during peak hours, making returns from outings a bit challenging.

The Chestnut Inn At Oquaga Lake offers a charming lakeside retreat. The history is tangible, given the property is nearly 100 years old. I appreciated the cozy atmosphere with beautifully preserved arts and crafts furniture. The food at the restaurant truly stood out. the fried burrata was a hit during dinner, absolutely delicious. I loved the large room I stayed in with a promised view of the lake, making evenings peaceful. One downside was the breakfast timing—it started at 8 am, a bit too late for early risers like me. I enjoyed the pistachio scone immensely, but they ran out quickly. Also, the portable air conditioning units in the building could use some improvement as they were a bit noisy, affecting the tranquility. Overall, a delightful stay was occasionally marred by minor inconveniences, but I’m looking forward to returning once the renovations continue.

missingWrote a review on Jul 03clean suitelake viewscharming atmosphereparking challenge
The Deluxe King Suite offered a clean and spacious atmosphere, with beautiful lake views that created a relaxing environment after a long day. The arts and crafts furniture added a unique charm, making it feel like a cozy escape rather than just a regular hotel room.
The parking lot's size posed a challenge. if the place were full, finding a spot might be tricky. The lack of refreshments between breakfast and the bar opening was disappointing, especially given the remoteness of the area, as the nearest convenience store was too far away. Returning from dinner to a dark building felt unsettling, highlighting the need for better outdoor lighting and improved access signage within the property.
